Connecticut-based artistAmy Eisenfeld Genser creates paper collages that depict underwater reefs as they would appear from above. These mixed media relief pieces are about a foot wide. Genser treats the paper almost as a pigment, layering colors one on top of the other to create different colors. Then she rolls one layer on top of the other in all different thicknesses and seals the roll with acid-free, archival glue stick. Finally cuts the long piece into sections with scissors or pruning shears.
